On March 26, 28 students were inducted into McDaniel College's Delta of Maryland Chapter of the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa national honor society. Founded in 1776, The Phi Beta Kappa Society is the nation's oldest academic honor society.

Titled "Unfolding Reality," the exhibition runs Tuesday, Feb. 21-Friday, March 10, in Esther Prangley Rice Gallery, Peterson Hall. An opening reception takes place Thursday, Feb. 23, 5:30-7:30 p.m., with a gallery talk at 6 p.m. Students exhibiting their artwork include Rowan Berti of Wilmington, Delaware, Skylar Blackbull of Crownpoint, New Mexico, Kelsey Bosley of Manchester, Maryland, Kate Cramer of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania, Grace Harshman of Hagerstown, Maryland, and Juliana Stolkovich of Littlestown, Pennsylvania.

Danielle Carter named a semifinalist for the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship at the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, Region II. The 2023 Region II Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) was Jan. 17-21, 2023.

The scholarship, which is awarded based on scholastic, athletic and leadership attributes, covers full tuition, room and board, and fees, plus additional funds for books, as well as a monthly living stipend. The student will be commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and will incur a service commitment to be served on active duty, in the Army Reserve, or National Guard upon graduating from McDaniel.

McDaniel College announces its Fall 2022 dean's list, recognizing full-time undergraduate students for outstanding academic achievement. Highest honors are earned for a semester grade point average of 3.90 or higher, high honors for a grade point average of 3.70-3.89, and honors for a 3.50-3.69 grade point average.

McDaniel College students performed in the Gospel Choir Concert on Sunday, Dec. 4, at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, Md. The choir is under the direction of music lecturer Shelley Ensor.

McDaniel College students performed with the Westminster Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, Dec. 3, at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, Md. Under the direction of Linda Kirkpatrick, senior lecturer in music at McDaniel, the orchestra is comprised of McDaniel College and Carroll Community College students in addition to music faculty from both colleges, as well as community musicians.

McDaniel College students performed during Jazz Night on Thursday, Dec. 1. Directed by Tim Jenkins, music lecturer at McDaniel, Jazz Night featured classic big band swing, bebop, Latin, Funk, Jazz-rock, and Classic Blues.

McDaniel's delegation of 11 students represented Ireland and were accompanied by Christianna N. Leahy, chair of the political science and international studies department at McDaniel. The Mid-Atlantic European Union Simulation engages students in discussions and debates that are both current and topical on the European Union (EU)'s agenda.

The McDaniel College Choir presented its winter concert, "Music Matters," on Sunday, November 20, 7 p.m., in Baker Memorial Chapel at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, Md. The choir is under the direction of Kyle Engler, with Peggy Brengle serving as accompanist. The program featured music from diverse locales and historical eras. The concert also showcased the A Cappella Ensemble, an elite group of unaccompanied singers chosen from the choir's roster.
