McDaniel College Students Named to the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society
McDaniel College students were named to the Omicron Delta Kappa national leadership honor society. Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society, was installed at the college in 1963. Membership in the society is a high honor, for it carries with it the responsibility of encouraging students in leadership and community service. Juniors and seniors who stand in the upper 35 percent of their classes are eligible and selected on the basis of exceptional leadership in various aspects of campus life.

McDaniel College Art Majors Exhibit Work in "Light and Color, Space and Place: Landscape Painting On Site and in the Studio"
McDaniel College's Esther Prangley Rice Gallery showcases a group exhibition of landscapes inspired by student-faculty summer research conducted by Steven Pearson, the Joan Develin Coley Chair in Creative Expression and the Arts, and four Art majors. Titled "Light and Color, Space and Place: Landscape Painting on Site and in the Studio," the exhibition runs Tuesday, Nov. 7-Friday, Dec. 8. An opening reception takes place Thursday, Nov. 9, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., with a gallery talk beginning at 6 p.m.

McDaniel College students participated in Summer 2023 internships. Internships and other experiential learning opportunities, such as study abroad, student-faculty research, and independent study, are key elements of the "My Experience" component of the college's signature McDaniel Commitment. The McDaniel Commitment is supported by the Center for Experience and Opportunity, McDaniel's one-stop shop that focuses on experiential learning and career development.

McDaniel College Students Receive Army ROTC Scholarships
McDaniel College students earned Army ROTC Scholarships. The scholarship, which is awarded based on scholastic, athletic and leadership attributes, covers full tuition, room and board, and fees, plus additional funds for books, as well as a monthly living stipend. The student will be commissioned as a second lieutenant and will be required to serve active duty in the Army Reserve or National Guard upon graduating from McDaniel. Scholarships totaling over $1 million were awarded to the Green Terror Battalion.

Select graduating seniors from McDaniel College majoring in Elementary Education or minoring in PreK-12 or Secondary Education were named Teachers of Promise by the Maryland State Department of Education.
