McDaniel College students participated in fall 2025 internships. Internships and other experiential learning opportunities, such as study abroad, student-faculty research, and independent study, are key elements of the "My Experience" component of the college's signature McDaniel Commitment. The McDaniel Commitment is supported by the Center for Experience and Opportunity, McDaniel's one-stop shop that focuses on experiential learning and career development.

McDaniel College's annual student honors art exhibition features a variety of work from five senior Art majors. Titled "Fragments of Becoming," the exhibition runs Tuesday, March 3-Friday, March 20, in McDaniel's Esther Prangley Rice Gallery, Peterson Hall, at 2 College Hill, Westminster, Maryland. An opening reception takes place Thursday, March 5, 5:30-7:30 p.m., with a gallery talk at 6 p.m.

A group of students from McDaniel College participated in "Independent Higher Education Day" in Annapolis, Maryland, on Tuesday, Feb. 17. The McDaniel students from Anne Arundel, Carroll, Montgomery, Prince George's, Talbot, and Worcester counties met with lawmakers and attended a luncheon, highlighting the partnership between Maryland's independent institutions and the State of Maryland.

McDaniel College announces its fall 2025 dean's list, recognizing full-time undergraduate students for outstanding academic achievement. Highest honors are earned for a semester grade point average of 3.90 or higher, high honors for a grade point average of 3.70-3.89, and honors for a 3.50-3.69 grade point average.

McDaniel College students participated in the Model European Union 2025 Simulation conference in Washington, D.C., held Nov. 13-15. A delegation of eight students represented Portugal and were accompanied to the conference by Christianna N. Leahy, professor in the Political Science and International Studies department at McDaniel.

McDaniel College's Biology department hosted a fall research symposium, titled "Antennae, Tentacles, and Beyond," on Wednesday, Dec. 3, held at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, Maryland. McDaniel Biology students presented their research from fall semester course-based projects on ecology, marine symbiosis, entomology, antibiotic resistance, and more, including scientific posters.

The McDaniel College Gospel Choir performs on Sunday, Dec. 7, at 3 p.m. in WMC Alumni Hall at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, Maryland. Directed by Senior Adjunct Lecturer Shelley Ensor and accompanied by Alice Dorsey, the Gospel Choir performs traditional and contemporary gospel music along with some holiday favorites.

Titled "A Musical Call for Unity," the Westminster Symphony Orchestra Concert takes place Saturday, Dec. 6, at 3 p.m. in WMC Alumni Hall. Directed by Linda Kirkpatrick, senior lecturer in Music, the Westminster Symphony Orchestra is composed of McDaniel and Carroll Community College students, as well as Music faculty and community musicians.

Senior Lecturer in Music Linda Kirkpatrick directs the McDaniel College Band Concert on Friday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. in WMC Alumni Hall at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, Maryland. The band comprises McDaniel students, as well as McDaniel faculty members, alumni, and community musicians, including students from Carroll Community College and Carroll County Public Schools.

Select McDaniel College students were inducted into the Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society. Alpha Lambda Delta (First-Year Seminar) recognizes students who completed their first year at McDaniel with a 3.7 grade GPA or higher. Its mission is to encourage superior academic achievement, promote intelligent living and continued high standards, and to assist students in recognizing and developing meaningful goals for their roles in society.

Select McDaniel College students were named to the Trumpeters leadership honor society. Trumpeters is a leadership honor society that recognizes exemplary qualities of leadership, integrity, and sincerity. Those selected are called to serve as positive examples of the campus by devoting themselves to academics, extracurricular activities, and service. Students may apply for membership in the spring semester of their junior year.

McDaniel College students were recognized at the Nov. 16 Undergraduate Awards Ceremony. Current seniors, juniors, and sophomores were honored for academic achievement and leadership.

Select McDaniel College students were named to the Omicron Delta Kappa national leadership honor society. Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society, was installed at the college in 1963. Membership in the society is a high honor, for it carries with it the responsibility of encouraging students in leadership and community service. Juniors and seniors who stand in the upper 35% of their classes are eligible and selected on the basis of exceptional leadership in various aspects of campus life.

On Thursday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m., in Baker Memorial Chapel, students in McDaniel College's Student African Drum Ensembles perform, under the direction of Senior Adjunct Lecturer Pape Demba "Paco" Samb. The program features the traditional African songs "Lambaa," "Kuku," "Mengani," and "Macaru."

Adjunct lecturer Brian Frazier directs Jazz Night on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m., in WMC Alumni Hall. The concert features diverse styles of jazz, including classic big band swing, bebop, Latin, funk, and rock and roll. Highlights of the program include "Over the Rainbow" from "The Wizard of Oz," Earth, Wind & Fire's "Fantasy," Booker T. and the M.G.'s "Green Onions," and Dizzy Gillespie's "Manteca." Community members will join the students on stage during the performance.

McDaniel College students were named to McDaniel's 2025 Homecoming Court. The Homecoming Court was presented Oct. 25 during pre-game activities of the Green Terror football game.
