McDaniel College students participated in fall 2025 internships. Internships and other experiential learning opportunities, such as study abroad, student-faculty research, and independent study, are key elements of the "My Experience" component of the college's signature McDaniel Commitment. The McDaniel Commitment is supported by the Center for Experience and Opportunity, McDaniel's one-stop shop that focuses on experiential learning and career development.

Senior Art majors at McDaniel College showcase works in annual student honors exhibition

McDaniel College's annual student honors art exhibition features a variety of work from five senior Art majors. Titled "Fragments of Becoming," the exhibition runs Tuesday, March 3-Friday, March 20, in McDaniel's Esther Prangley Rice Gallery, Peterson Hall, at 2 College Hill, Westminster, Maryland. An opening reception takes place Thursday, March 5, 5:30-7:30 p.m., with a gallery talk at 6 p.m.

A group of students from McDaniel College participated in "Independent Higher Education Day" in Annapolis, Maryland, on Tuesday, Feb. 17. The McDaniel students from Anne Arundel, Carroll, Montgomery, Prince George's, Talbot, and Worcester counties met with lawmakers and attended a luncheon, highlighting the partnership between Maryland's independent institutions and the State of Maryland.

Highest honors are earned for a semester grade point average of 3.90 or higher, high honors for a grade point average of 3.70-3.89, and honors for a 3.50-3.69 grade point average.

A delegation of eight students represented Portugal and were accompanied to the conference by Christianna N. McDaniel Biology students presented their research from fall semester course-based projects on ecology, marine symbiosis, entomology, antibiotic resistance, and more, including scientific posters.

Alpha Lambda Delta (First-Year Seminar) recognizes students who completed their first year at McDaniel with a 3.7 grade GPA or higher. Select McDaniel College Students Named to the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society

Select McDaniel College students were named to the Omicron Delta Kappa national leadership honor society. Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society, was installed at the college in 1963. Membership in the society is a high honor, for it carries with it the responsibility of encouraging students in leadership and community service. Juniors and seniors who stand in the upper 35% of their classes are eligible and selected on the basis of exceptional leadership in various aspects of campus life.

Adjunct lecturer Brian Frazier directs Jazz Night on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m., in WMC Alumni Hall. The concert features diverse styles of jazz, including classic big band swing, bebop, Latin, funk, and rock and roll. Highlights of the program include "Over the Rainbow" from "The Wizard of Oz," Earth, Wind & Fire's "Fantasy," Booker T. and the M.G.'s "Green Onions," and Dizzy Gillespie's "Manteca." Community members will join the students on stage during the performance.
