Elementary Education major Mackenzie McBride named a Distinguished Teacher Candidate
Elementary Education major Mackenzie McBride, who graduated May 21 summa cum laude with departmental honors in Education from McDaniel College, was named a Distinguished Teacher Candidate by the Maryland Association of Teacher Educators (MATE). Additionally, McBride along with six other graduating seniors were named Teachers of Promise by the Maryland State Department of Education.

Students are nominated as Teachers of Promise on the basis of GPA, service, leadership, and their application and they are provided a mentor to guide them through their transition from college to the classroom.

McDaniel College students participated in the National Model United Nations (NMUN) 2022 conference April 3-7 in New York City. McDaniel's delegation of 19 students represented the People's Republic of Bangladesh and won two awards.
