McDaniel College's student honors exhibition features a variety of work from three senior art students. Titled "Pigments and Plastics," this annual exhibition runs Thursday, March 1-Friday, March 30, in Rice Gallery, Peterson Hall, at 2 College Hill, Westminster, Md. An opening reception takes place Thursday, March 1, 5:30-7:30 p.m., with a gallery talk at 6 p.m.

McDaniel College senior Megan Smith of Federalsburg, Md., directs Eve Ensler's iconic play "The Vagina Monologues" on Friday, Feb. 23, and Saturday, Feb. 24, 7:30 p.m., in WMC Alumni Hall at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, Md. The play is in association with V-Day, a global movement to stop violence against women and girls. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students, seniors (over 60), active military members and veterans, as well as those with a McDaniel College ID. McDaniel College announces its Fall 2017 Dean's List in recognition of students' academic excellence. Highest honors are earned for a semester grade point average of 3.90 or higher, high honors for a grade point average of 3.70-3.89, and honors for a 3.50-3.69 average.

McDaniel College and WBAL-TV (NBC, Baltimore) select student winners of the "How You are Making History at McDaniel" student video contest.

McDaniel College students perform during Jazz Night on Thursday, Dec. 7. Directed by Tim Jenkins, music lecturer at McDaniel, the McDaniel Jazz Ensemble will perform styles of jazz representing classic big band swing, bebop, Latin, Funk, Jazz-rock, and classic blues.

McDaniel College students were selected to present at the fifth annual Conference on the Muslim World held Sept. 18-20 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

McDaniel College students were inducted Sept. 23 into the Alpha Lambda Delta national honor society. Alpha Lambda Delta (First Year Seminar) recognizes students who completed their first year at McDaniel with a 3.7 grade point average (GPA) or higher. Its mission is to encourage superior academic achievement, promote intelligent living and continued high standards and to assist students in recognizing and developing meaningful goals for their roles in society.
