McDaniel College junior Atticus Rice of Portland, Ore., has been named a 2018 Newman Civic Fellow, one of 268 student leaders nationwide recognized by Campus Compact. A double major in political science and communication, he was nominated for the honor by McDaniel President Roger N. Casey.

McDaniel College's student honors exhibition features a variety of work from three senior art students. Titled "Pigments and Plastics," this annual exhibition runs Thursday, March 1-Friday, March 30, in Rice Gallery, Peterson Hall, at 2 College Hill, Westminster, Md. McDaniel College senior Megan Smith of Federalsburg, Md., directs Eve Ensler's iconic play "The Vagina Monologues" on Friday, Feb. 23, and Saturday, Feb. 24, 7:30 p.m., in WMC Alumni Hall at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, Md. The play is in association with V-Day, a global movement to stop violence against women and girls. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students, seniors (over 60), active military members and veterans, as well as those with a McDaniel College ID. McDaniel College announces its Fall 2017 Dean's List in recognition of students' academic excellence. Highest honors are earned for a semester grade point average of 3.90 or higher, high honors for a grade point average of 3.70-3.89, and honors for a 3.50-3.69 average.

McDaniel College and WBAL-TV (NBC, Baltimore) select student winners of the "How You are Making History at McDaniel" student video contest.
