Directed by Tim Jenkins, senior adjunct lecturer, Jazz Night features diverse styles of jazz, including classic big band swing, bebop, Latin, funk, jazz-rock, and classic blues.

The McDaniel College Department of Music presents a performance by its Student African Drum Ensembles on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. The performance takes place in the Roj Student Center's Naganna Forum at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, Maryland. The program features the traditional African songs "Kuku," "Macaru," "Mengani," and "Lambaa," under the direction of Senior Adjunct Lecturer Pape Demba "Paco" Samb, a Senegalese griot.

The McDaniel College Choir presents its fall concert, "Peace/Alleluia," on Sunday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m. in Baker Memorial Chapel. The choir is under the direction of Kyle Engler, senior lecturer of Music, with Peggy Brengle serving as accompanist.

McDaniel College's Esther Prangley Rice Gallery showcases a group exhibition of landscapes inspired by student-faculty summer research conducted by Steven Pearson, the Joan Develin Coley Chair in Creative Expression and the Arts, and four Art majors. Titled "Light and Color, Space and Place: Landscape Painting on Site and in the Studio," the exhibition runs Tuesday, Nov. 7-Friday, Dec. 8. An opening reception takes place Thursday, Nov. 9, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., with a gallery talk beginning at 6 p.m.

Linda Kirkpatrick, senior lecturer of music, directs the band, which features approximately 50 students, faculty members, band alumni, and community musicians, performing everything from classical to pops.

Note: the show, which is approximately 35 minutes in length, is intended for mature audiences.

The McDaniel College Choir will present its spring concert, "Music from France and the Diaspora," on Sunday, April 23 at 7 p.m. The concert will take place in Baker Memorial Chapel. The concert features movements from the Durufle Requiem to the gypsy jazz of Django Rheinhardt.
