The McDaniel College Band performed Friday, May 5, at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, Maryland. Linda Kirkpatrick, senior lecturer of music, directs the band, which features approximately 50 students, faculty members, band alumni, and community musicians, performing everything from classical to pops.

McDaniel College students performed in the Gospel Choir Concert on Saturday, May 6, at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, Maryland. The choir is under the direction of music lecturer Shelley Ensor.

McDaniel College students performed during Jazz Night on Thursday, May 4. Directed by Tim Jenkins, senior music lecturer at McDaniel, Jazz Night featured classic big band swing, bebop, Latin, Funk, Jazz-rock, and Classic Blues.

McDaniel College students performed with the Westminster Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, May 6. Under the direction of Linda Kirkpatrick, senior lecturer in music at McDaniel, the orchestra is comprised of McDaniel College and Carroll Community College students in addition to music faculty from both colleges, as well as community musicians.

The McDaniel College Department of Music will present a performance by its TerrorTones A Cappella Ensemble on Monday, May 1, at 7:30 p.m. in Baker Chapel.

The McDaniel College Department of Music will present a performance by its Student African Drum Ensembles on Thursday, April 27 at 7 p.m. The performance will take place in the Roj Student Center's Naganna Forum.

Shakara Sapp, a senior Theatre Arts major from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, directs "Wanda's Visit," Christopher Durang's comedic one-act play. Performances are Thursday, April 20, Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. in Dorothy Elderdice Studio Theatre, WMC Alumni Hall. Note: the show, which is approximately 35 minutes in length, is intended for mature audiences.

The McDaniel College Choir will present its spring concert, "Music from France and the Diaspora," on Sunday, April 23 at 7 p.m. The concert will take place in Baker Memorial Chapel. The concert features movements from the Durufle Requiem to the gypsy jazz of Django Rheinhardt.

An opening reception takes place Thursday, Feb. 23, 5:30-7:30 p.m., with a gallery talk at 6 p.m. Students exhibiting their artwork include Rowan Berti of Wilmington, Delaware, Skylar Blackbull of Crownpoint, New Mexico, Kelsey Bosley of Manchester, Maryland, Kate Cramer of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania, Grace Harshman of Hagerstown, Maryland, and Juliana Stolkovich of Littlestown, Pennsylvania.

The McDaniel College Choir presented its winter concert, "Music Matters," on Sunday, November 20, 7 p.m., in Baker Memorial Chapel at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, Md. The choir is under the direction of Kyle Engler, with Peggy Brengle serving as accompanist. The program featured music from diverse locales and historical eras. The concert also showcased the A Cappella Ensemble, an elite group of unaccompanied singers chosen from the choir's roster.

The performance took place at 7 p.m. in Baker Memorial Chapel at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, Md. The Ensembles were under the direction of McDaniel music department faculty member Pape Demba "Paco" Samb, a "Senegalese Griot," or West African historian, storyteller, singer, poet, dancer, and musician.

McDaniel College students performed in the Student Solo Recital on Friday, November 11. The recital featured a selection of vocal and instrumental soloists performing a variety of music spanning from classical to contemporary.

Kim Parson, a junior at McDaniel College, has been recognized for her passion for lighting design and stagecraft with a 2022 Collier Robert Woods, Jr. Scholarship. Parson of Pikesville, Md., is a theatre arts major with a cinema minor.

McDaniel College Theatre presents "Radium Girls," D.W. Gregory's recounting of the tragedy of Marie Curie's factory workers at the college.
