Mark Ryan Collins of Gaithersburg Earned Bachelor's Degree from McDaniel College

Mark Ryan Collins of Gaithersburg graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from McDaniel College on May 25.

McDaniel College awarded more than 350 bachelor's degrees during the 149th undergraduate commencement ceremony on May 25. Commencement speaker was Carroll County, Md., philanthropist and McDaniel College board chair Martin K.P. Hill. The graduates hailed from 23 states, plus the District of Columbia, and 15 countries.

Academic honors given at graduation include summa cum laude for a cumulative grade point average of 3.9 or higher, magna cum laude for a cumulative grade point average of 3.70 to 3.89 and cum laude for a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 to 3.69.
