Matthew Butt of Marriottsville, Md. Performs in College Choir Concert at McDaniel College

Matthew Butt , a senior from Marriottsville, Md., performs in the annual College Choir Concert at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, Md. The performance, which is free and open to the public, takes place Sunday, November 23, 7 p.m., in Baker Memorial Chapel.

The college choir presents "An International Holiday Celebration" under the direction of Margaret Boudreaux, music professor and department chair, with David Kreider serving as accompanist. The concert features music all over the world. Audience participation is encouraged.

The highlight of the concert will be the finale, featuring Masterworks Chorale of Carroll County, the Baltimore Recorders, the Washington Cornett and Sackbutt Ensemble, and the Maryland Boychoir for the modern premiere of "Lob se idem AlmAchtigen Gott" by Michael Praetorius and edited by Boudreaux specifically for this performance.

According to Boudreaux, "The diverse ensembles will be placed throughout the hall with the College Choir in the balcony filling the hall with early Baroque splendor. Prior to that closer, each group will individually perform short Baroque pieces throughout the concert, leading up to the dramatic finale."
